Our story
Etete Mart began the way most good food businesses do — in a family kitchen, with no plan to sell anything at all.
"Etete" was our family's name for our grandmother. She churned butter the traditional way — by hand, in small batches, with patience nobody has time for anymore. We do it the same way today, just at a scale that lets us share it beyond our own table.
We're a small, family-run operation based in Ethiopia. Milk is sourced from farms we know personally, churned in small batches, and packed for export by people who grew up eating the same butter. We're not a large industrial dairy — and we don't want to hide that. It's the reason the product tastes the way it does.

Our process
Fresh cream is sourced from trusted local farms, selected for quality and consistency.
Butter is churned in small batches using our family's traditional method, then washed and salted (or left unsalted) to order.
Batches are chilled, packed for cold-chain freight, and documented for customs and import compliance.
We're happy to jump on a call before you commit to a first order.
